Bridging Two Different Worlds: Dylan O’Keeffe Brings Racing Precision and Safety Focus to Forklift Championship
Sydney, Australia – June 12, 2025
Australian racing driver Dylan O’Keeffe, renowned for his stellar performances in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and TCR Australia, is set to compete in the upcoming Australia Forklift Championship at CeMAT Australia in July 2025.
Known for his versatility behind the wheel, O’Keeffe is bringing his race-honed skills to the warehouse, emphasising that precision and safety are paramount whether navigating a racetrack or manoeuvring a forklift in a busy warehouse environment.
O’Keeffe, who has secured multiple podiums in the Porsche Carrera Cup and a class win in the 2017 and 2023 Bathurst 12 Hour endurance races, views the Australian Forklift Championship as an opportunity to highlight the parallels between motorsport and forklift operation.
“On the track, split-second decisions and precision are critical, but safety always comes first,” said O’Keeffe. “The same applies in a warehouse—operating a forklift demands focus, control, and strict adherence to safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure efficiency.”
Safety and Focus: Shared Values in Racing and Logistics
Similarities Between Racing and Forklift Operation
As a licensed forklift driver himself, O’Keeffe sees the championship as more than just a competition – it’s a chance to bridge the worlds of motorsport and logistics, highlighting the shared values of skill, precision, and safety.
Importance of Safety in High-Pressure Environments
“On the track, every move is calculated, and safety is non-negotiable,” O’Keeffe said. “Forklift driving demands the same focus and respect for safety standards to protect workers and goods. I’m excited to compete and challenge operators to bring their A-game.”
